Siemens will pay $ 1 billion to Gamesa fusion, says Bloomberg

Siemens will pay about $ 1 billion to the Spanish Gamesa in a deal to merge the business in the wind energy sector of both companies, told Bloomberg in a report on Thursday, citing sources.

Gamesa will receive the funds as a special dividend of new wind energy company created by the merger, along with a share of 41 percent in the business as part of the deal, told Bloomberg.

Siemens declined to comment, while Gamesa could not immediately comment.

On Wednesday, Gamesa had said he had not closed according to Siemens on the planned merger and that negotiations followed open.

The two companies said in January they were discussing a possible deal to create what would be the largest company in the wind energy world, which would also strengthen the timid presence of Germans in wind farms on land market.
