Amazon presents the first plane of its Prime Air fleet


Amazon presented on Friday the first plane with its brand, as part of what expected to be a fleet of cargo planes "Prime Air".

Amazon began working in recent years with airlines dedicated to the lease-purchase (leasing) and cargo operators to reduce their dependence on transport companies, but the announcement on Friday is the first that shows a plane of its own fleet.

Baptized "Amazon One", the aircraft will be officially presented during the Fair Seafair Air Show in the city where its headquarters, Seattle, in Washington State. This Boeing 767-300 will carry out a demonstration flight.

"Create an air transport network allows us to develop our capabilities to ensure shorter delivery times for our members Prime in the coming years," said Dave Clark, head of global operations Amazon.

The aircraft will have a logo to Amazon Prime. It is the first of a fleet of 40 that Amazon decided to rent the leasing companies. The group has eleven aircraft leases within the framework of these association agreements.
