Oracle to pay $ 3 billion to HP Entreprise

                      Oracle

The Oracle software group must pay $ 3 billion for damages to Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), according to court decision on the case involving programs for servers that run on the Itanium microprocessor, revealed on Thursday The Wall Street Journal.

A California court upheld the HPE when considering that Oracle violated a contract to which the two groups were submitted when the company decided in 2011 to stop developing software and databases for Hewlett Packard servers that worked with Itanium microprocessors .

HP Enterprise company that offers services and develops server systems, was the result of the division, in November, the Hewlett Packard group.

The trial began in 2011 when Hewlett Packard filed suit against Oracle in a Santa Clara County Courthouse, California.

Oracle said it will appeal the ruling.
