Annual inflation accelerated in August in the United States, with the Consumer Price Index registering 1% this month, said on Friday the Commerce Department.
In July, the PCE price index based on consumer spending - which is the basis for the Federal Reserve to observe the evolution of prices - was 0.8%.
Excluding volatile sectors such as energy and food, prices based on consumer spending rose 1.7%, a slight increase of 0.1 point compared to July.
